Why I Started Parkour
I started Parkour because I wanted to challenge myself mentally as well as physically, and to get in better shape. After I tried my first class, I was the most sore that I had ever been, but I was also hooked.

Why I Love Parkour
There's no single reason why I love Parkour. I love it because there is a very powerful feeling of accomplishment that you get from overcoming a fear or landing a trick for the first time. I love Parkour because the people that make up the community are some of the nicest, most accepting and most encouraging folks out there. I love Parkour because it encourages me to be healthier and to improve what my body is capable of. I love Parkour because I've met some of my best friends through our mutual love of this sport.

Why I Started Parkour
I grew up playing video games and watching old kung-fu movies. I always admired how the characters would fearlessly jump from thing to thing and run up walls to get where they needed. One day I decided I was going to be like my heroes, so I started practicing movements. Before I knew it I could do everything they could!

Why I Love Parkour
While Parkour started as just emulating the people I look up to, it is now something I can no longer describe. I'd love to be able to put it into words, but honestly I feel all words fall short. Parkour is my life, passion, challenge, growth, and fun. Parkour is everything to me.

Specialty
I'm not sure I have one, as I'm more of a jack of all trades.

Why I Started Parkour
I used to play soccer, and I wanted to be able to celebrate victories by doing a front flip.

Why I Love Parkour
I've always been an athlete and loved to move, but there's a feeling of freedom in Parkour that I never got anywhere else. Also the community is by far the nicest I've ever met.

Why I Started Parkour
I grew up in a jungle. I was found and raised by a friendly panther and his hetero life partner bear. We quickly learned that with my delicate fur-less body, I would need some way to combat the many adventures that were sure to come my way. I learned the ways of the animals and grew to become the most fearsome protector of the jungle.

Why I Love Parkour
I found it very difficult to express my love for parkour... so I wrote a poem:
Oh Parkour, shall I compare thee to a Summer’s day?
Love is not love, if Summer’s lease has all too short a date.
Not marble, nor the gilded monuments of princes,
Make a famine where abundance lies.
O, learn to read what silent love hath writ:
To hear with eyes belongs to love's fine wit.

Why I Started Parkour
Having played conventional sports such as basketball for most of my life, I wanted to explore physical activity in a different way. I was drawn to the raw athleticism and “be strong to be useful” philosophy displayed by the practitioners of the time.

Why I Love Parkour
Through Parkour, I gained an appreciation for movement from a different perspective, one that focuses on freedom, self-directed challenge, environmental awareness, and functional fitness. As I practiced Parkour, I got to know an amazing community of people who I continue to train with today. As an instructor, I have seen the benefits of Parkour in the physical literacy and confidence of younger practitioners and this has inspired me to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and teaching.
The perfect starting point for students between 6 and 10 years old.
